This gave me much more info than the first book. Lots of useful information you could take to your doctor.The book explains Hypothyroid, Hyperthyroid, Hashimoto's in detail and explains that a person can be Hypo & hyper at the same time. I decided not to go to my doctor and take my health into my own hands. After reading this book I ordered NDT (Natural Desiccated Thyroid) and take that instead of Levothyroxine. No more horrible side effects! I cant tell you just how much difference NDT makes compared to Levo or Synthroid. The book tells what dose to start with and I do not have that tiredness anymore even after 12 hours sleep. My Doctor kept telling me my tests were fine, 'NORMAL' she said. well I did not feel normal, I left the office in tears after that last visit and vowed to do my own research. I am using Thiroid I order with no prescription from Thailand. I highly recommend them. they have a facebook page Thiroid. I also take a thyroid support which has key ingredients a person needs for Hypothyroid.
This is such a GREAT book! I knew I wasn't imagining what my body was doing & going through.If only the thyroid 'doctors' would enlighten themselves to the FACTS! But sadly they are taught lies.I know that seems like a strange statement but once you've done the research you'll know it's true.Why do they insist on pushing synthetics on us when there are NATURAL medicines that have been proven to work better for over 100 years!? And at 1/4 the price!Why do thyroid doctors say they will not prescribe natural thyroid? Or those few who do act like your wanting heroin?I have tried close to 30 thyroid doctors since mine was removed, only 1, who was from Japan, knew what he was talking about. Sadly, he relocated and I only got to see him twice.I am glad I got the book after Forest Lab reformulated their Armour. What once saved my life now it's useless to me. The worst of the worst green clouds landed on Millard County, Utah where I spent the first 3 years of my life.I lived with hyperthyroidism until I was 44, than it wigged out, the same age my father's did.So now I've been living without a thyroid for 13 years. I was bedridden the first 6 1/2 months, than the doctors told my son I had 2 1/2 days, maybe, left to live.My son did the research on the internet after learning they had me on synthetic medication and found out about Armour and demanded they put me on it.When I was still able to talk I told the doctors over and over that my body had never responded to synthetics, I've never been able to wear synthetic materials, but they wouldn't listen. They 'think' they know so much.Within 2 weeks I was able to walk the 18' to the bathroom & back to bed. In 6 weeks I went out dancing & was up to 91 lbs from the 82 lbs I had been, I'm 5' 7".Most all of my family suffer from this, or worse cancer.Not to put all doctors down because I now have some great ones that keep me together having sever Graves' disease, also from being a Downwinder. I've had 4 surgeries just for my eyes that might not have been needed had I had a knowledgeable thyroid doctor to start with.But I'm still searching for a real thyroid doctor.
Bought his for my mother. I have a thyroid disease that has been nothing but terrible to deal with and I've tried everything with my doctors. My family never quite believed that my life has been taken away by this disease and the fatigue I experience is extreme.My mother has a thyroid disease as well as my father. They've both been able to mostly manage their thyroid with their doctors up until recently. I've been trying to explain to my parents what goes on and what medications will most likely work better for them, etc. My mother is an RN and was easily able to read volume 1 and 2 of these books. She's very happy about them and feels educated. She also now understands why I can't always get up and do things and has explained it to my family that I'm "not just being lazy."Thanks for these awesome books! Really has made my family more accepting, and they now feel that they can talk to their doctors about their thyroid.
The book is very informative, but does not address my issue, which is NO THYROID! They do have a page at STTM Facebook specifically for those of us who do not have the gland. There is a difference between hypo with a thyroid and hypo with no thyroid. I have been dealing with an Endo. who has a god complex and will not listen to me. I am thankful for the Facebook page and my Primary Care Physician's willingness to work with me.
